Q & A with Ken & Sonya at Kingloch Parade

Ken and Sonya purchased at Kingloch Parade off the plan in 2022, settling into their new home in late 2025.

After ‘right sizing’ from a much larger family home, they were drawn to its location and the way the neighbourhood had been planned.

Now living here, they reflect on the journey – and how it’s all come together.

BP: How does it feel to settle into your new home?

Sonya: When I first walked through the front door of my house, I felt like I’m like in a hotel because my corridor is long and then it’s like I’m on holiday!

I love staying here. It’s the space – it’s very spacious and very quiet, relaxing and the ambiance here is very peaceful! So, I’m, you know happy staying here.

Ken: When we first came here, we met with our neighbour and a couple of other neighbours came and in fact he threw a gathering in his house. So, all of us met up. You know, there’s five or six different families. So, I think the community here is kind of a quite friendly.

BP: How did you come across the development?

Ken: The reason we started looking for a new home was because our present house is a six-bedroom house and it’s too big for us. One of my daughters said that, Dad, you know, there’s this new development coming up in Wantirna, location wise is perfect – it’s in between one daughter in another two daughters! So, it’s ideal!

BP: And you’re happy with the experience?

Ken: The kind of concerns we are buying off the plan was – is this developer, will he finish the project? That was the first concern, but nevertheless we did a little bit of search on OPG and then we were kind of at ease to go with this decision to buy this offer plan.

Sonya: We had an excellent experience with Raghav. He’s such a gentleman. And he’s like, so humble. And it’s easy to talk to him. The whole Oz Property team are all very helpful, friendly and easy to approach and talk to.

Ken: I think there’s also their aftercare support when moved in here, because there’s so many things that we have to learn. We’re so satisfied, you know, with the overall development and of course our house. Now, we had some friends who came over and one of them was my lawyer who did the transaction, and he was very pleased with what he saw. So absolutely, yeah, we’re happy with what we have and will continue to enjoy it for a long time.

BP: It’s so green and leafy here, isn’t it?

Sonya: I love the community garden – it is spacious, its quiet. I can sit under the tree there. Yeah. And it’s lovely.

Ken: Also, you know, we were told that, you know, that you preserved many of the trees here, which I think you’ve done really well. If you go to many of the communities, these cluster houses, you don’t see this sort of nature being preserved. And we got one tree in our compound which we are, you know, keeping.

Yeah, when we look at overall plan of Kingloch Parade. It looks a lot more spacious; the roads are quite wide – so it allayed some of my fears of living in a very claustrophobic environment.

BP: And has it been a good financial decision to ‘right-size’?

Ken: It was excellent capital growth of the house. We were told about 20%, obviously we’re quite pleased with that because we invested in this around four years ago when we first in here put the deposit in 2022 February. So yeah, it’s something that we are very pleased about, but we’re not going to sell our house!
